Capitalism is about getting someone to buy whatever it is you’re selling – for this, sellers utilize ‘advertising’, which is Capitalism’s version of the Truth. In Capitalism, the Truth is fluid; it is whatever people will ‘buy into’. Truth still exists, but you have to be a ‘smart shopper’, and go looking for it – otherwise, you will always wind up accepting someone else’s version of it.
The Third Option has gone looking for the Truth and has found it. We are not selling the Truth, we are simply sitting on it, and hoping everyone else can find their way to it – the sooner the better. To simply ‘give you the directions’ would not serve Democracy or Liberty; selling Truth is a shortcut to thinking, and ultimately will not lead to unity – to ‘share in a common life’. Selling Truth is only for manipulative purposes: to get people to buy into someone else’s hidden agenda. Each of us is filled with a thousand false truths that, through education, must be discarded as false, one by one, until we can all think more clearly, and perceive the commonalities that will form the infrastructure of a shared life.
This is why we are asking you to PLEASE go looking for the Truth; The Third Option is confident we will eventually all wind up in the same place. This is the essence of Democracy: that through self-reflection, each of us can independently – and with liberty fully attached – wind up in the same ‘mental’ place. At that moment, the American people will finally vote overwhelmingly in favor of this shared common life; until then, we will divide and conquer ourselves, with no clear majority – a stalemate – which only serves the interest of those who wish to remain in charge.
Education, more than anything, will help you develop your ‘bullshit detector’, so you can weed out the false truths currently being sold to you. People’s minds work much like a computer; we ‘file’ things away in filing ‘cabinets’, to help us organize the vast amounts of information we absorb around us. These filing cabinets are labeled. When we are uneducated, these files sit around empty, and can easily be ‘mis-labeled’, or put into the wrong filing cabinet.
If we have never known any immigrants, for instance, we might throw them into the same filing cabinet as ‘rapists’, because someone told us that ‘immigrants’ were ‘rapists’. If you do not have any black or gay friends, they might be labeled under a ‘Them’ instead of an ‘Us’, if someone were to suggest that you do so.
Because we apparently still have no idea what Democracy is, there has been a campaign to stick it in the “Socialism’ file cabinet. Perhaps everyone’s first assignment should be to go learn the true definition of Socialism – and not Capitalism’s version of it. Each citizen’s goal should be to replace labels with first-hand information. The more we know, the more we move toward each other and a shared common life.
